First Mississippi Case – Sept. 15

On September 15, 2021, The Mississippi Board of Animal Health (MBAH) was notified by the National Veterinary Services Laboratory of a positive finding for Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease virus in a domestic rabbit. The positive case occurred in Rankin County, Mississippi. At this stage, their investigation has not revealed a source of infection. These were pet rabbits and there is no known connection to any other rabbit owners. The facility is under quarantine and is being cleaned and disinfected.
